ABWHE Writing Groups

A Community of Accountability and Productivity in Scholarship

Members of the Association of Black Women in Higher Education, Inc. (ABWHE) are invited to participate in a six-week writing group to begin a new project or complete an existing work. Participants will gain the support of an organized group and have opportunities for peer feedback. Current members are encouraged to invite one guest to participate.  Non-members can register for a nominal fee

Lift as We Climb

A Community Engagement Program for Youth

ABWHE cultivates partnerships with K-12, Higher Education, and community organizations to provide academic enrichment opportunities and resources to students. We sponsor several initiatives such as backpack drives, holiday baskets, book clubs, and mentoring.

Be Inspired

A quarterly series of professional and personal development topics to elevate self-efficacy, enhance skills and abilities, and expand one’s network and resources. ABWHE National will host online series and share recordings to members.

ABWHE's Scholarship

ABWHE’s Academic Scholarship Program


ABWHE awards two academic scholarships to Black women students who exemplify the organization's "Lift as We Climb" mission.
 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Undergraduate or graduate student

  • Enrolled student at any higher education institution affitliated with ABWHE

  • Self-identify as a Black woman
